I’d have to say no. I mean Oscar Robertson might look like the Tampa Bay Rays 2023 spring training vintage shirt in other words I will buy this better player on paper but he played with terrible teammates for the majority of his career. I mean as soon as he went to the Bucks to play with Kareem his scoring averaged dropped by 6 points a game. When Larry Bird was putting up his career high in points he actually played with good teammates and that team was a legitimate contender for the NBA finals, and this is also during an arguably more competitive era. Oscar Robertson is still a top 5 point guard of all time and I’m not trying to degrade his whole career but I would give Bird the edge. I really really like Larry Bird. But having watched both of them, Lebron. That isn’t a knock against Bird. We are talking about the two best non-guard passers in NBA history. Pre-Lakers… you might have had an argument or something to stand on even if the numbers didn’t favor you. But now it’s just so so far apart.
