It was there that her management first spotted her at 15. “I was so passionate about music, so it was second nature for me to write songs,” says Crookes. “It was like keeping a diary. But yeah, to be honest, I didn’t really think it was a viable career path. It felt very out of reach, it felt like something that just wouldn’t happen to, I guess, a normal person.”
